We are home from our trip to Dave’s parents’ house in New York. It was really, really nice to get away for a few days. After an initial adjustment, Carmen did very well. I think the cold air was good for her! The day we arrived the temperature was 50 degrees. A couple of days later it was 5 degrees!
We will post more pictures in the next couple of days but wanted to say hi!
Here is a picture of the view from Dave’s parents’ front window. Beautiful, huh?!

WOW, That is New York? I guess I always think of the city. I am glad you are home safe and Carmen is well. God bless. In Christ, Joe
Where did you go in upstate NY? We live about 35 minutes east of Saratoga Springs. About 8 miles west of the Vermont border. It is beautiful and peaceful here-but really cold!!
Best wishes,
Kara
That isn’t even a really good picture of the view from our living room - - on a clear day the lake view is awesome!!
And - - if you really want to see some beautiful views - you should see the sunsets and sunrises we are gifted with - right out of a picture book! God has blessed us with a fantastic spot in central New York - - but, with it comes hurricane style winds (most recent loss was of a 24 foot heavy duty “portable” shed that lasted less than a week - the wind took it, frame and all!!), lots of snow drifts, and the smell of slurry (farm country!)!
O - I forgot. Kara, we had 2 degrees below 0 this week for cold - - we live on a ridge and the wind does blow!! If we go north into the Mohawk River valley, there is completly different weather. We are surrounded by farm land so there isn’t much to stop the wind!
This picture is amazing! It makes me want to move far away from San Francisco!
We too are surrounded by farm land. Today’s high is 22. Warm compared to just a few days ago!
Have a great day,
Kara
Brittany, we live in a suburb of Washington DC. I know exactly what you mean! We love getting away and unplugging for a bit.
May I ask where you are? We live in Ithaca. It is cold!
All the very best!
