Yesterday we did something totally spontaneous and went to Virginia Beach. Although we were only there for a very short time, it was really, really nice to get out of the house and spend time together. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Carmen update: the up and down continues but Carmen had a pretty good day. For the most part, she was relaxed and comfortable. If you want gory details, after 13 days and one enema, poop happened. The whole house has an interesting odor. 
Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow & see more pictures. I hope your trip was everything you prayed for.
Spontaneous can be wonderful, I hope it was for each of you. The last thing I did that was spontaneous? I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember. I’ve been married to a planner for 20 years, guess it’s finally rubbed off on me.

I am glad that Carmen finally “produced” for you! I’m glad that you just got in the car and went some place fun!!!! I’m going on vacation tomorrow so I won’t be able to check your blog- I might go through withdrawal!!!!!
Hi, I bet Carmen feels a lot better and I hope she is comfortable, I pray. I have gone to VA. Beach every year since I can remember until the last few yrs. It is my favorite beach. If you go again go to Chicks for me, cool place with great food. God bless, Joe
What a gift to have a day of spontaneous family time at the beach. I am so glad you were able to have a day like that. I can’t remember the last spontaneous thing I have done or that we have done as a family so this is very encouraging.

Looks like fun. Hope and Lauren are getting so big. Glad you could get away. Congrats to Carmen for the poop. Her belly must feel better.
