It’s been a rough week. We would greatly appreciate your prayers. Here are the specifics.
Wes and Steve (Dave’s brothers)
Brief update: Wes’ body rejected the kidney that Steve donated last week. Wes is still in the hospital, hoping to be released tomorrow. He has been dealing with a lot of pain but is feeling better. Steve is also doing better and may get to travel back home today (he has been recuperating near the hospital).
- For Wes to continue recovering from two major kidney surgeries within a week.
- For Steve to continue recovering from donating his kidney last week.
- For both to emotionally heal.
- For Steve’s and Wes’ families. They too have gone through a very traumatic week.
- For the doctors to come up with the best course of action for Wes now.
Our Family
- For our marriage. Lately, we have not been responding well to the enormous amount of stress we are under.
- For our living situation. We are still in limbo land as far as where we will be living after this summer. The owners of our townhouse did send out two contractors for an estimate on finishing the basement bathroom but we haven’t heard further.
- For Carmen. There’s nothing specific going on with Carmen but we always appreciate your prayers for her.
I took a picture of these flowers in our front yard a few weeks ago. They only bloomed for a few days. But, they reminded me that the bleak, dead days are only for a season and that life does bloom again.

Wow! Praying for your whole list… I’m so sorry for your stress, and your heavy burdens…
“Dear Jesus… you know the thoughts of our hearts…”
I will be continuing to pray for your entire family. With love, Rikki
I will certainly keep you all in my prayers! I don’t know if this quote will help but I came across it in another blog……
“If our vocabulary did not contain the words trouble, adversity, calamity and grief it could not contain the words bravery, patience and self-sacrifice. Those who face no calamity will need no courage. Mysterious though it is, the human characteristics we admire most grow in a soil with a strong mixture of trouble.”
~Dale Turner
I am always amazed at how strong your faith is inspite of all the challenges you face. You are such an inspiration to me – I just wanted you to know that!! Sending you many hugs and prayers!!!!!
Praying continually. We must sing Praises to God all the while. He inhabits the Praises of His People. We are so blessed to have our Loving God with us in everything, all the time. And, He has known all these troubles (and all the good stuff, too) from The Beginning. Let’s lean on Him, trust Him and know that He has us covered…. Hallelujah to The Lord God Almighty!!!!
Praying for all the things listed and those that are not.
I will pray for your family (immediate and extended)for comfort, healing, health and patience. I understand and feel for the stress on marriage, I pray for you and Dave that you will continue to remember that you are one unit and there is strength in numbers. This challenge is an opportunity to turn to each other for comfort and balance when life is trying to keep you down. I pray that Godd will show you the path for your future but for now just focus on the immediate. Do what needs to be done to get thru today and he will take care of tomorrow!
Know that I am praying for all of you! May God give you the strength you need for each moment and His peace. God bless you!
I echo what Sharon (in NC) said. Praying for you. Is there any way you two can get away by yourselves for even one night? I know that when our marriage is in a bad place, EVERYTHING else is worse and when it’s in a good place everything else seems possible. Hang in there…
Praying for you all.
Hey there Lana, I have been praying for Wes, Steve, and all of you all day. I really can’t imagine the anguish all of you must feel. I truely hurt for you all. Some of us, maybe all of us, have things happen that change our lives and because of it we are never the same. Nothing we can do about it. Our only choice is to deal with it. No matter how we choose to deal with it it ain’t fun and some times you just feel crushed (I speak of myself) At that point, no options left, HOPE says “hi there”
)Strange but I just get up, I feel better and couldn’t tell you why. Nothing super natural happens, I guess it is then I just know I’m not alone. I know you know you and Dave have the same thing, not only from God but each other. Remember that, always trust, and sooner or later for no apparent reason your hearts will have peace and your Spirits rest. I believe in you both, love you all very much. Hope all this makes sense. I really don’t write long writings any more. Hug your girls for me. God bless, Joe
Sorry things are so stressful right now. I know that any regular day is about all I can cope with, so anything on top of that is too much. I will pray for some relief soon for you.
