Eggs Without the Cholesterol

Yesterday, Monica the Magnificent and Lauren made paper mache eggs for an Easter craft. Monica brought over cardboard eggs, tissue paper, and glue. Lauren managed to make her eggs without getting any glue on her hands. She asked Monica to do all the messy smearing!

Here are some pictures.

This egg project reminded me of a decorated egg my dad made when I was in second grade. He drained the egg and drew a bunny and flowers (I think…he might remember better). He let me take the egg to school for show and tell. The teacher almost passed out when she saw me holding this incredibly fragile work of art. I don’t know what happened to the egg and I don’t think anyone took a picture. But, it was beautiful.

I’m really excited about Easter this year. Texas Grandma (my mom) will be here! This is the first time my mom will meet Hope. We will be going to our church’s Easter play on Sunday morning. I’ve got Easter dinner all planned: brown sugar pineapple ham, au gratin potatoes, asparagus, corn, crescent rolls and fruit salad.

What a beautiful Easter project! Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful Easter filled with lots of love and a delightful meal (that I in my wildest dreams couldn’t pull off!) I hope you all enjoy this blessed day!!!!

Oh yes you could! The ham is pre-cooked. The potatoes are out of box. The corn is out of a can. The crescent rolls are out of a tube. The asparagus and fruit for fruit salad are fresh. :)

Crescent rolls are yummy with some creme cheese spread on them, about 1 oz. per roll, then roll them up. Make a little dent or ditch across the top and pour honey in it. Bake them as usual!!!

Well Lana, I sort of remember the egg. That was about what, 27 years ago? I’m glad you remembered it and mentioned it here! I know it wasn’t “exactly” a faberge egg. I really hope that someday Texas Granddad can visit Hope, Carmen, Lauren and you and Dave where you live. In the future if I’m still in the D/FW area, my desire would be for you guys to stop by for a visit. Take care. Love on those girls for me. I trust in Him that you’ll have a great Easter time with your Mom. Love always, Dad.
