Emily lost her first two teeth at 3 1/2 years — way before she had any concept of money! The tooth fairy left her stickers (and has continued to do so for the six teeth she’s lost since them). It has been perfect for her, but I expect her to feel very cheated when she gets older and realizes that most kids get money (and that she missed out on a lot of it)!

With inflation as it seems to have grown, I’m thinking a Mercedes should be parking in the driveway. Afterall, it’s not the dark ages of quarters and dimes any longer….. Sorry, was that too much wiseness?????

I saw this on a different blog and thought it was so adorable…

matthias lost his first tooth yesterday.

further proof that he is growing up (despite our instructions that he stay small forever).

he was so, so excited.

and the tooth fairy brought him 1 dollar bill, 2 quarters, 3 dimes, 2 nickels and a penny.

so he feels totally rich and proceeded to inform every stranger that he had ‘money his pocket’.

that $1.91 is definitely burning a hole. how soon can we get to a target??

We always used to give various little gifts, a little doll, polly pocket or my little pony toys, things like that, nothing real pricy just something different and neat!

My son lost his first tooth yesterday as well. The tooth fairy wanted to leave five dollars but he got 10 instead because we were out of fives

Congratulations, Lauren! When Jack lost his first tooth (at 8 years and 8 months!!), the tooth fairy left a little poem, 4 dollar bills, and 1 “gold” dollar coin.

Hi Lauren,

Annie lost her first tooth last week as well. She was very excited. She was the very last person in her first grade class to lose a tooth so she was waiting for one to fall out. I think she lost the same tooth that you did ( on the bottom of her mouth). Congratulations!!

PS- Lana…..I, too, was sad to see the tooth fall out. Annie is growing up way too fast!
