The Tooth Fairy’s Gifts
The Tooth Fairy didn’t bring a Red Ryder BB Gun or a Mercedes (nice ideas though). As soon as Lauren woke up, she checked her tooth fairy pillow and found 4 quarters for her princess bank and a kitty cat for her doll house. She wanted me to tell all of you that she named her cat “Mrs. Kitty Cats”. She was thrilled!

Carmen update: Carmen is once again having problems with swelling. She also had some blood in her feeding tube yesterday. Carmen’s Hospice nurse suggested we start Carafate again to reduce stomach irritation.
We are expecting another 10-20 inches of snow today. This is on top of the 30 inches of snow we just got. Please, please pray that we don’t lose power. We need to keep Carmen warm! And we need to be able to run her machines: feeding pump, pulse oximeter, suction machine, nebulizer, Vest, etc.
Absolutely praying for your power and, by the way, that the snow dissolves before getting to your area. No need for more snow, at all. What a wonderful tooth fairy. Perfect idea. The Mercedes would have rusted eventually, anyway….. Praise God daily.
You should contact the police department. They can bring you an emergency generator to run Carmen’s equipment. This is a life or death situation without electric. They can provide you with emergency power.
Hi Lana, I’m sure you’ve already done this but make sure the power company knows that Carmen is fragile and needs heat. In the event the power does go out they’ll put a priority on your neighborhood. Hugs & Prayers!
Hi Kim, I filled out the electric company paperwork but I am wondering if I ever turned it in. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll check.
Wow!! What fantastic tips on alternate power! Great ideas. I’m certainly praying that you don’t get another bunch of snow. Once is enough for several winters!!
Glad the tooth fairy was so kind to Ms. Lauren. I watched a little girl once (in college now!) and we had a fake bird for the kids to play with. She had it in the little FP picnic basket with a blanket. I said, “Catherine, what’s your birdie’s name”. Her immediate response was “Polly (I thought that was pretty cute but then the rest of the name came out—) Polly Esther!” Some things you never forget! (they were not a polyester family!) LOL!!! Her great, great grandma’s name was Ethelyne and grandma was Margarite.
Take care, stay warm and we’re praying that you’re snow storm doesn’t amount to much. Let the wonderful folks in NYC have a turn!!
Love and Prayers, Janet
Around here the power company can bring you a generator on a truck if it is a medical necessity. I suspect there is a lot of paperwork involved but it seems woth checking out.
Hi there, Well it is snowing as I type so I know you are getting hammered. I will be praying very much you don’t lose power and Carmen is ok. I like your kitty Lauren. God bless, Joe
Great idea for the dollhouse toy….it’s the little things they remember, right?? And good luck with the snow. Lots of great ideas about generators!
I am glad the power lasted for you and love this picture of the cat. It looks so huge here and it was oh so tiny. Loved how proud Lauren was showing off her first missing tooth and tooth fairy loot!
