Blizzard of ’09

Last I heard, we got 22 inches of snow. But it was still snowing at that point so I don’t know the final count. Wow!

Dave is still not feeling well and I am on bed rest, so we have mostly just watched the snow from the warmth of our living room. Lauren is eager to go jump in the snow so hopefully it will last a few days. People are talking about this snow versus the blizzard of ’03 but we missed that one too (Lauren was born that day!).

Thankfully, Carmen’s weekend nurse lives just a short distance away and made it to her shifts. She did tell me last night that she walked from the main street because our road was too slippery. Thank you, Salem!

Today is Carmen’s 41st month birthday so happy, happy 41 months sweet baby! I wish you were healthy and could go play in the snow with your sister. And today is Uncle Tony’s birthday. Happy birthday Uncle Tony! While I’m saying happy birthday, I want to add that today is also Rashmi’s birthday! So, happy birthday to all of you. :)

Hi there, Happy birthday, Carmen, Tony, and Rashmi. Dave, I hope you feel better soon. Lana… I hope your happy HAHAHA!!! This is enough snow for the year now. I had to shovel most of my driveway since I decided I didn’t need chains because I had weights. The tractor didn’t go 5 feet then just spun. My neighbor took me to get chains today. Thank God! Hope you have a good night. God bless. In Christ, Joe

Wish you guys lived in our neighbourhood… my kiddos would sure have loved to play with Lauren.
    xoxo

I thought of you guys when they were talking about the snow in Maryland on the news. I was hoping you would have no drama that comes with the blizzard. We just got a few inches and was out of electricity for about 4 hours. I was running around like mad at 4:30 AM trying to find portable oxygen tanks in the dark and praying the portable suction had enough power to last awhile.

We didn’t lose power. I was concerned about that. We keep our suction machine plugged in all night just in case we lose power at some point. And I bought one on Craigslist to have as a back-up (we keep it in the car). You can google Craigslist and suction machine and all the listings all over will pop up. I emailed the lady and she was willing to mail it to me. I think I paid $50 total, including shipping. It’s the exact same one we have through our insurance- Devilbiss.

It would be nice if we all lived near each other and could team up when stuff happens!

Thanks for thinking of us! I’m sorry you lost electricity. Hopefully there will be no more running around like mad!
