Sunday’s Thankful Couch Musings
- Carmen is doing OK.
- I am 30 weeks pregnant today! When I was in the hospital, my doctor said that if we could get to 30 weeks, that would make all the difference in the world. Here we are and Baby Hope doesn’t appear to be coming out any time soon!
- A wonderful Thanksgiving with family, friends and food! Thank you to the NY Grandparents and our friends for cooking all the fabulous food!
- Great nurses for Carmen. One of our very favorites ever is leaving (moving to Austria) and while we are happy for her, we are sad to lose her. We have three other wonderful nurses and we are so very thankful for their loving care.
- Carmen’s pediatrician, neurologist and gastroenterologist who are willing to answer our questions over the phone or via email.
- Ebay. I got a SUPER deal on two Miracle Blankets for Hope. I love good deals! (If you want to get really, really good deals, bid on stuff right around the holidays! Every one is out of town or busy so the bids are low.)
- Cousins. Lauren’s cousins came for a visit this weekend and she had a GREAT time.
- 6yearmed. In my opinion, 6yearmed is one of the best blogs out there. This pediatrician makes me laugh and cry. Click here for a recent post.
- A new toilet. Don’t laugh. That is a big deal when you have been dealing with one that stops up for 2 years! Rental property management company installed a new one and so far, so good!
- A 5 year old who writes on her school paper, “I am thankful for my famle.” We are thankful for you too, Lauren! More than you will ever know.
- Dave who is running errands that probably make no sense but that make me feel better!

Carmen update: Carmen’s seizures have intensified in the past few days. She is having quite a few crying-out seizures and some jerking seizures that last up to 5 minutes. Tomorrow I will call her neurologist and see if we can increase her seizure medications or add a new seizure medication. Phenobarbital works very well for Carmen so I hope we can just increase that dose.

Lana, so happy your had a mile marker in your pregnancy. Thank the Lord! Went to the website and enjoyed so much the story.
We are praying for precious Carmen. It must be so hard for you to bear when she is having her seizures. We are praying for all of you, for strength in times of weakness, for safe delivery of Hope, for God’s wonderful grace.

Hi Lana. Thanks for the miracle blanket link. I think it might be too late for my 8 week old but it looks like it would have been the best thing. Hope stays put for a few more weeks. Be well.
