A Friend Named Joe

I know a man named Joe. Joe is my friend.

A friend, you see, is someone who is there for you when times are troubling.
A friend is there for your family when the days are full of stress.
A friend is someone who prays for you.
A friend listens to you pour out your concerns even though he has concerns of his own.
A friend is encouraging.
A friend corrects you when you are wrong about important things but doesn’t correct you when you are wrong about unimportant things.
A friend understands how you feel because he shares your pain.
A friend knows when to speak and when to be silent.
A friend is compassionate and empathetic.
A friend wants nothing but the best for you.

I know a man named Joe.
I’ve never met Joe but he is my friend.
I wish I was a friend to others the way Joe is a friend to me.

Joe has some concerns right now. Will you please join me and pray for Joe today? If you don’t pray or believe in prayer, that’s OK. But will you at least consider leaving a comment right now to raise the spirits of my friend Joe, a man who is going through some challenging times at the moment?

I would think that probably “Your Friend, Joe” is also my friend, Joe…..There is no one I’d rather pray for in the world than Joe…I’ve never met Joe either, but I know Joe as a true friend.

Absolutely! Dearest Joe… You are a light in very dark moments. With every new posting, I search to find your reply. While you are speaking directly to Dave and Lana, your messages lift my heart and soul to see the Truth, as well. God knows you as I do not. And, He will hear my prayers in Jesus’ Name. I praise God for you always. And, He dwells in the praises of His people. Our body is supported by your presence, Joe. Thank you.

Joe, your posts reveal a deep, abiding faith and genuine love for others – the kind that is only developed by God revealing Himself in very intimate ways through all the stuff of life. It has been my joy to drink the cool, refreshing water of your words, and it is truly my privilege pray for you. Whatever is going on, we – God and your friends – gotcha covered.

I think we all consider Joe a friend. His words on here always show a man who loves the Lord and truely cares about others, even with the trials he himself faces. I will be praying for you Joe and know that God will take care of you.

I second, or sixth (whatever) the thoughts concerning Joe. He is a faithful participant. Like you guys I want him to know he is being thought of and prayed for today. Trust in the Lord Joe. Set your mind on God. He will deliver you from whatever trial(s) you are enduring right now. Promise! Amen?

Joe, It is a privilege to have the opportunity to pray for you after you have been so faithful in encouraging and praying for Lana’s family. I agree with Valerie that your posts reveal a deep faith in God and love for others.
Father, We ask You in Jesus’ name to supply Your wonderful abundant grace to meet Joe’s every need, to guide him and bless him with your richest blessings. We pray that he will leave all choices to You because we know that You give the very best to those who leave the choice with You. We thank you for and look forward to seeing the way that You will answer all our prayers concerning Joe.

    Joe
You have been such a blessing to our family, even though none of us have met you in person.

Thank you so much for all the encouragement you have sent to my brother, sister-in-love, and nieces. We are lifting you before the Father who holds you in His hands.

May the Lord continue to bless you and your family. Blessings,
    Trish, Tony and Family

WOW, Are you really talking about me? Thank you all so much. How did you know? You prayed for me and God spoke to you. That is the only way. Thank you, I am really in awe right now. With what things I face lately, I don’t care because look at all the “Joe’s” I have, nothing else matters. Since you all care so much and I do consider you my friends, I will say some things, although the “mystery man” thing sounds cool HAHA!! just joking. After 16+ years my wife chose to leave me about July and she and my son moved out a few weeks ago. I was would have to go to a home to live because I can not live independantly but by the Grace of God and some truely Godly neighbors I get to stay in my home with their help. I miss my son terrible, I did all I could for my wife but she wants the old me not the new. She did try for 5 yrs and she still helps me some too but I know that will stop. I hope to live my life here in my home but I am told as time goes on I will get worse and need supervision like alzheimers. 10 more yrs at most. I don’t tell any people this only you. I think I have to stop now. I am tired and honestly want to spend some time with God for you all. You bless my heart each. I love you all. God bless you, Good night. I feel like I am wrapped in the arms of Jesus right now and I really needed it. Thanks! Love, your friend, Joe

Yes, Joe, we are talking about you. My heart is grieved by what you are going through right now. My hope and prayer is that the God who created the universe will hold you carefully in his hands and carry you through these painful moments. I also hope and pray that you’ll receive encouragement through this community just as you have provided so much encouragement to us.

    Oh, Joe
My heart is broken for you. I’m so very, very sorry that you are having to go through this terrible trial. Thank you for being so open and honest with us all. We know how to pray more specifically for you. Not that it matters with God, He knew exactly, even if we didn’t.

    Father in Heaven,
Please be with our dear friend Joe today. Wrap Your loving arms around him. You will never let him go. Bless him today as he continues to seek and serve You; as he leans on You. We can see that his heart is tied to Yours so clearly. Continue to carry him through this trial. Be with our friend today since we can not.
    In Jesus Name, Amen.

Joe, my heart hurts for you so much I can’t even seem to find the right words to pray. I know that Jesus will take this and intercede on your behalf to the Father, thankfully, since I am never eloquent enough.

I pray that He will bring a balm to your soul in a way that only He can.

    Trish (Dave’s Sister)

Hi Trish, Your prayer is perfect, your words comforting and you are with me. All of you are. Believe me when I say God hears you.
Really? Really, Really :o ) From Shrek, don’t know why I always remember that. Love you all. In Christ, Joe
