Lauren had strep throat this week and now Carmen has a fever. This evening Carmen started breathing loudly so Dave repositioned and suctioned her to see if that would help. I took her temperature and it was 102. The strange thing was that her hands and feet were icy cold and her forehead was very cool to the touch. But, her cheeks and nose were very hot and flushed.
Carmen doesn’t usually catch what goes around our house. Last year we all had the flu except for Carmen. Many times we have had colds and Carmen hasn’t gotten them. We will take her to the doctor tomorrow morning to check for strep. Maybe its not strep but another aspiration pneumonia. Thank you for your prayers for Carmen!
I had a doctor’s appointment today and the verdict is in. The doctor wants me to stop picking up Carmen. I have been having random contractions for several weeks now. I KNOW that picking up a 40 lb. child and carrying her around is not a good idea for a 22 week pregnant lady but not picking Carmen up is much easier said than done!!! We have 12 hours of night nursing and then I take care of Carmen during the day. Dave and I are talking about different possibilities and we would surely appreciate your prayers that we can figure out a plan.
Sending our prayers from NC! Take Care of yourself!
Wishing I was there to help Lana. Praying is good. Helping is better.
Dad
Lana, Is there any way you could get more nursing hours? At the end, I ended up with 20 hours a day – you need help, girl. I wish I was closer. xo nan
Hang in there, Lana! For what it’s worth, my youngest always has cold feet when he’s feverish. Who knew?
I will definitely keep you all in my prayers! Praying Carmen can fight the fever and feel better soon!
Love, Janet
I’m so sorry that Carmen is sick again, and that Lauren has strep. I am praying for good health for all of you, and for a way for Carmen to still receive your love and care throughout the day without you putting your baby girl in jeopardy. I wish we were still neighbors so I could do more than pray! Love, Christina
Hi Lana, Your dad is pretty cool, I don’t know why I know this, just do. I will be praying you get the help you need and for Lauren and Carmen to feel better soon. God bless. In Christ, Joe
Lana, please let me know if I can ever come over and help! Meanwhile, I will be praying! (and enjoying your chicken salsa soup!
)
Isn’t it hard to hear the words “Don’t pick anything up?” Being on bed rest has been a difficult task. (I must admit that I cheat quite often!) So much has to be done around the house and not doing laundry or dishes or playing with my Step son just doesn’t seem realistic! Hang in there! And I hope the girls’ feel better!
