Fun in Upstate New York

Even though Carmen was as sick as a dog, we still managed to have some fun during our short visit to my parents’ house right before our Make-A-Wish trip to Cape Cod.

The first half of this short video was filmed at Howe Caverns. It’s a cave about 300 feet below the earth’s surface. Very cool, literally! We went with my brother and his family as well as my dad and aunt.

The second half was filmed at my parents’ house. You’ve seen pictures before, here and here. Now you get to see Lauren in action with her cousin Kasey. The two of them had an absolute blast riding the John Deere from dawn till dusk!

What do you do on a rainy day?

Hi Dave, Well I can’t figure out how to see your video but I can say what I am doing on a rainy day. I don’t know if I told you but my cupboard with all my jelly, green beans, and tomatoes fell and all the jars broke so I got some red and black raspberries and strawberries I froze and am making new jelly. I will let you know how it taste. God bless. In Christ, Joe

Well, first of all, I loved the video. I can only imagine how proud your parents are of both of you! And, Second, I want some of Joe’s jellies and Jams. I don’t think that’s asking too much, do you?
I’m thinking of my Carmen sign. Trying to come up with something amazing for that sweet little Angel!
    Love ya, Janet

Me too. I’m proud of Dave! You know what makes me really proud? That during a really stressful time in life, Dave has chosen something fun for our whole family to get him through the hard times. He could have decided to leave and find someone new or start drinking but instead he started making videos!

I will admit to freaking out on several occasions when Dave “needs” something new to work on his videos! (I’m the saver in the family!)

Speaking of new video equipment…he he he! Just kidding!

This is yet another reason why I think we make a pretty good team. Spending is definitely a weak area for me. I’m thankful that I married you and that you are pretty good in that area.

Thanks Janet! I agree. I think the prize for the winning picture should include some of Joe’s homemade jelly!

To answer the question, on this rainy day, I am cooking a meal for a friend who just had a baby. I am SO GLAD I can cook again! :)

I watched this new video which is adorable, and beautiful, and then decided to watch again “He Never Lets Go.” What an amazing production! Even though I read your site regularly, I was reminded anew of the profound impact Carmen has made on your life, and I’m in tears…
