Carmen is sick again. It’s likely some type of pneumonia. Please pray.

With each bout of sickness, Lana and I struggle through the same questions.
Will this will be the one?
Should we take her to the ER or treat her at home?
Are we ready to let Carmen go?
Are we still hanging on for her…or for us?
What should we pray for? Specifically.
We know that God can heal Carmen if He chooses. We’ve asked him hundreds of times. Will He?

The tension is always there.
Usually, it sits right below the surface of our daily lives.
But each battle with sickness brings that tension right to the top, right out in plain sight.
It can get ugly.
Every time we go through this, Lana and I say things to each other that we would never say otherwise.
Hurtful things.
Things that aren’t even true.
Yet each time, we work through the tension and forgive each other for what we say.
After each sickness passes, we are stronger together because of it.

Carmen is sick again. Please pray.
We are so sorry.
Praying here for all of you during this trial.
Sending love across the miles. Give each other a hug from each of us.
Love,
Trish for us all.
Know that I am praying for all of you – but especially for Carmen, that she will be much better soon! God bless you!
Praying for Carmen and you! God understands your prayers. No need to worry how to word them.
Take care. Stephanie Houston
Praying for Carmen and You….for Health, Peace and Compassion. Love, Janet
Praying for all of you…
Strength and wisdom for Dave and Lana;
Lauren as she starts the great Kindergarten adventure; and
Health for Carmen, Lana, and baby
Hi Dave, Hi Lana, You know for me, kind of sitting on the side lines reading about your lives, it is easy to forget what you all go through each and every day. The stress, worry, constant work to care not only for Carmen, but Lauren, your new baby, going to work, and your marriage has to be harder than I can imagine. This might sound stupid but did you ever hear of the tv show “the big valley”? You might have to ask your parents about it but any how I always remember Victoria (mom)saying to Heath (Tom’s son, not hers) “Show us some of Tom Barkleys’ guts” I just always liked that. When my mother in law was alive she always said to “buck up” and my good friend John Williams always sais “Cowboy up”. Life is hard and for some it seems unfair but what I think it really is, is an opportunity to do one thing. Show God what you got. We all got some talents, some five, some ten, some one, that doesn’t matter what matters is what will you do with what he gave you and what will you give him in return. I don’t know how many talents you both have but I can tell you your using them well. I will continue to pray God’s peace and strength for you and Carmen will feel better very soon. This is a long one so I hope it is good, trying to do the whole talent thing
) Hope you have a restful night and a wonderful Sunday. God bless. In Christ, Joe
Thanks Joe! We can always count on you for wise words of encouragement.
Lana often reminds me that, as the leader of our family, how I react or respond sets the tone and direction for the whole family. She’s right and so are you.
So here’s to “bucking up” and doing the right thing during difficult times so that a greater good can be accomplished in us and through us.
“Show God what you got.” Love that, Joe!
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. So far tonight…so good. We picked up a couple of anti-biotics and they seem to be helping.
Praising YHWH for sending Joe for all of us to be awakened. Praising the Lord for the Love and Strength with which He supplies Dave and Lana. Praising God for sending His son to lead us Home. Praise the Lord for all His Blessings. The Lord inhabits the Praises of His People. And, His presence will lead you all in His will. Praise The Lord, Indeed. Love and Blessings, Betty.
Hi Miss Betty, you must just be the sweetest thing. Always your words make me feel good in side. Thanks a lot. Love, Joe
Praying for your family.
Pray for God’s will to be done in His time and in His way because He is the only Way.
Wishing I could be near you,
Dad/Larry
Praying for all of you!
Thinking of your family and praying for each of you to know His peace.
Just a quick update.
Carmen is doing pretty well. The meds are working!
Glad to hear she’s doing better. The roller coaster of your life sounds tough. Praying for all of you.
Praying for Carmen and your entire family.
All those questions you cited above, unfortunately, rang true every time Riley was sick as well. These kids are amazingly strong, and so are their parents who love them. Keeping Carmen, as well as you guys, in my prayers. (((HUGS)))
Praying and Thanking Him that you all share your story here….
Praying for your family and esp Carmen. I pray she is resting comfortably now and is continuing to get better.
Wishing we lived closer…….
Hugs,
Debbie
Hello,
I was sent over to your blog by Trish Crawfurd from our Naturally Healthy board.
I have since followed and prayed for you.
I would like to pass on a few words of encouragement that we were given during some of our “rough” times. We found them to be a great comfort and I pray that you will find some comfort in them as well.

P.S. Sorry if this is a double, but my computer acted up and I don’t know if my first reply went through.
Praying for Carmen. And for you. We have our own medical issues at our house and praying for the relationship is critical. Not to make light of the need, but we have to tell each other, “put your oxygen mask on yourself, then your child,” to remind each other that *we* need to be strong.
Sending extra prayers your way. For healing and for strength.
Hey Dave
I’m sorry to know that Carmen is sick again, but everything is going to be ok!
Lots of prayers from Brazil
I’m praying.
