Lana and Lauren have been at the Annual Tay Sachs Convention in Boston since Thursday. They are having a great time and will return tomorrow evening. In the meantime, Carmen and I are enjoying a little “Daddy-Carmen” time.
We haven’t done anything too special. In fact, we’ve really just hung out at our house. I had to work on Thursday and Friday but Carmen waited patiently till I was done. Thursday night, Carmen and I watched Baylor lose in the Men’s Basketball NIT Final (I am a Baylor Alum so I was rooting for them to win). Apparently, Carmen thought it was boring and fell asleep. Unfortunately for her, I am an even bigger North Carolina fan so we’ll be watching more basketball tonight! Hopefully, she’ll be able to rest in my arms as I shout — er, cheer — at the TV!
Photo taken from Yahoo.com. Ignore that Uconn logo that looms over Hansbrough’s shoulder on the scoreboard.

Carmen is doing really well. Her breathing is slow and restful. Her temperature is normal. Her congestion has subsided a bit. She sounds great!
Thank you so much, Ada, for dinner on Thursday night: pot roast, mashed potatos, cooked carrots, biscuits and an entire chocolate cake!!! Just in case you are wondering…no, I haven’t eaten the entire chocolate cake…yet.
Hi Dave, I was wondering how you were holding up…poor thing HAHA!! Enjoy your cake and having Carmen all to your self. I have been praying. God bless. In Christ, Joe

Thanks Joe. I definitely miss my other two girls but I don’t get much uninterrupted time with Carmen so it’s been nice.
Hi Dave! Hope your having a great week-end. Bob would love to be with you watching the game. We are in the middle of our Easter rush. You asked what we are doing this week-end so here goes. I was in the worship team for our Ladies Enrichment Seminar today. Our guest speaker was Eva Whittington-Self. What a wonderful woman! She was in a car accident when she was 17 and was paralized. She has worked with Athletes in Action and speaks at seminars like ours. She has had many challenges in her life. God has brought her through them all. Bob worked today. Tomarrow the elders (Bob being one of them) are being dedicated at all three a.m. services. I will be singing with the regular church praise team at all the services and the Ladies Seminar Praise team(different from the regular praise team) will then sing at the evening service. That will be our week-end! Hope you have a great one with Carmen. We pray for her and you all constantly. Love You!
Hi Dave – I know you’re enjoying Carmen all to yourself. I’m mom AND dad now – with all medical decisions to make myself. I’ve always been impressed by your and Lana’s relationship – I’ve noticed the sweet things you say about her and her about you. May you continue to be a wonderful, Godly example of marriage and family to the world out there.
Blessing to you and your family, Nancy (mom of baby Ryan TSD, Jasmine, Megan and Olivia)
Thanks Aunt Sharon, seems like you have some great things going on this weekend. I don’t remember many specifics about the floral industry but I definitely remember how busy it is this time of year: Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduations, etc. I pray that God will give you all the stamina to make it through another year.
Nancy, I can’t even imagine how challenging it must be for you. My heart hurts for you. I am praying for you. Right now.
Let’s see….we haven’t done much, but today did get some new flooring in Grandma’s bathroom…don’t ask… needless to say, carpet in bathrooms are BAD, I mean HORRIBLE idea!
We picked up a nice, but cheap, flooring that really actually looks great! A friend from church came up to help. He and Tony got it in pretty quickly, so Grandma can have her bathroom back. I’m excited because it will be easier to clean! And it looks wonderful too!
Otherwise, church and potluck all day tomorrow will end the weekend for us.
We’ve been thinking about you all. Hoping that everyone is doing well.
Love,
Trish for all of us
Mmmmm…potluck!!
This is a little late but I did have a fun weekend.
My sister Sally came for the weekend and she, my sister Jerry Sue, and I went garage saling most of the day Saturday. We found some fun things and had a late breakfast at a Mexican restaurant. I wasn’t sure what a Mexican breakfast included but enjoyed it. We had scrambled eggs, refried beans, bacon, toast (we could have had tortillos), and guacamole. Yum! My favorite finds were some cute dishes with chickens on them (my sisters and I all collect chickens even though we grew up on a chicken farm and couldn’t stand being around them at that time) and two little dolls from Austria. I’m collecting small dolls to decorate my Christmas tree next year.
Saturday night Sally cooked chicken with mushroom gravy, summer squash, green peas with sauce, and coconut buttermilk pie. She is a great cook!!
