Who Gets the Last Piece of Pie?

While NY Grandpa was here, he made Triple Layer Mud Pie. We have one piece left. I am going to save it for Lauren and Dave to split. I am announcing this to all of you because otherwise I am likely to eat it before Dave gets home!

Here is the recipe, in case you need dessert tonight!

Triple Layer Mud Pie
3 squares Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate, melted
¼ cup canned sweetened condensed milk
1 Oreo pie crust
½ cup chopped pecans, toasted
2 cups 2% milk
2 pkgs. (3.9 oz ea.) Jell-O chocolate instant pudding
1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip topping, thawed, divided

Directions:
Mix melted chocolate and condensed milk. Pour into pie crust; sprinkle with pecans.
Beat milk and pudding mixes with whisk 2 min.; spoon 1 ½ cups over pecans.
Stir half the Cool Whip into remaining pudding; spread over pudding in crust.
Top with remaining Cool Whip. Refrigerate 3 hours. Makes 10 servings.

That’s just what I needed yesterday! Nothing like good old chocolate to make a person feel better….hmmmm, you could send it out here instead just in case there might be hard feelings about having to split it! ;)

PS. Thanks for the talk. I feel much better today. Just having one of THOSE moments you know.

Hi Lana, I don’t know if I really like that you showed us that, kind of like teasing us “cooking challenged” people who love pie ya know? :o ) Well, I will let you slide and go eat a twinkie! HAHA!! Enjoy Dave, Lauren, think about me as you enjoy your pie.

I always thought there wasn’t a mean bone in your body, until now. Just looking at the picture made me gain weight, and then you have to provide the recipe? You are cruel! :)

Today, my supervisor brought a big tin of assorted cookies from Sam’s. They were covered with Belgian chocolate and very yummy. I ate several. Then here comes this guy with the Caramel Delites girl scout cookies that I ordered a while back. I love those things!! Now I go to your website and find that picture. I believe there is a conspiracy to destroy the diet I have done very well on for several days. Oh well, guess I’ll start over tomorrow and right now I think I’ll have another Caramel Delite. Yum!

It looks so good. I will have to try that recipe. It looks like a dessert I get here in Texas from a place called Butcher Shop.

Amy, Where are you in Texas? I live in Lufkin and 20 miles away in Nacogdoches there is a Butcher Shop that has wonderful hamburgers. Just wondering if that’s the same place.
