When You Aren’t Looking

This is what happens when you are busy with your sick 2 year old and your healthy 5 year old is bored. Maybe she will be an engineer? She says she wants to be a night nurse, which makes me so proud. Although I wonder if that thought is influenced by the fact that Carmen’s night nurse keeps sodas in our fridge!!!

To clarify my previous post, we are thinking about one of us taking Lauren to the annual family Tay Sachs conference. Lauren had such a blast last year and has been talking about going to Boston ever since. I think it is so good for her to spend time with other children who understand what it is like to have a sibling with Tay Sachs or a related disease. Last year we learned so much about how to care for Carmen. And we met so many wonderful people. It really was a highlight of our year. We can’t take Carmen because of the never-ending C-diff, but perhaps some of us could go. Hopefully something will work out!

Goodnight and I’ll post an update on Carmen tomorrow.

Lauren, that is a pretty cool looking little fort. I bet it is pretty in the light. Carmen, I pray for you every day. God be with you all. In Christ, Joe

    Good Morning,
I’m praying that Carmen is feeling better. Lauren…you are an “Awesome Builder”!
I wrote an entry to you yesterday, but it never went through….:(
I was telling you that I was surprised they are putting Carmen on Vanco because it was the drug that caused it in my sweet little Auntie. I suppose that they are making strides in knowing what to do daily, but it is confusing to me. I’m praying however, that it works, because I know first hand how awful C-Diff is. When I took my Aunt to a Nurse that specialized in curing illness naturally, she told us that Milk and protein were the worst things to keep it going. I know it’s impossible to not give those things to Carmen, so I’m hoping the Doc’s know what is going to work. Take Care and know I’m praying for all of you….especially Carmen.
    Love, Janet

    Hello,

I entered Hill’s gymnastics this morning, as I do every Wednesday to take my daughter to her gym class. A preshchool field trip was already enjoying a session and I saw an adorable little girl having an enjoyable time – a little girl that I recognized from somewhere. It took me a minute to realize that it was your Lauren that I had seen in pictures on your blog. I had stumbled across your blog a little while ago and have checked in every once in a while. Carmen is about the same age as my daughter and I can’t imagine what you are going through on a daily basis. Anyway, Lauren truly seemed to be enjoying herself and was a real pro on the equiptment!

    Praying for Carmen,
    Lauren

    Lana,
As always Carmen is in my prayers as is your entire family. I say you take Lauren to Boston. Not only will she get to meet other families and siblings of these children but Boston is such a great place to visit. I live in Boston and am amazed at the history this city holds.

    God Bless,
    EZ
