Lauren has come down with a virus. She has a nasty cough and fever. An x-ray showed that she does not have pneumonia. So far, Carmen is perfectly well. Please pray that Lauren gets over this fast and that Carmen stays well! And that Dave and I stay well too!

Thanks to Monica the Marvelous for playing with Lauren and watching the girls so I could go to the pharmacy. Thanks to Karen for the yummy salad and corn casserole. And thanks to Roxana for the cornbread. I have some yummy soup that needed cornbread!

   Our house was hit hard this week. Maddie hasn’t been that sick since she was a baby. I volunteered at her school this morning, and it sounded like a bar full of smokers in her classroom. It’s going around! Amelia got it yesterday.

   I love Carmen’s sleeping position — I call that the “I surrender!” position. SO cute.
   Poor Lauren! I’m so sorry to hear about the cough/fever. She looks well pampered, all snuggled up in her afghan (and watching TV? I recognize that look from my own kids’ faces). The box of tissues just perfectly completes that picture. I hope you feel all better very soon, Lauren!
   Sarah — thanks for the “bar full of smokers” line. That’s what my classroom sounds like sometimes and now I have the perfect way to describe it!
   Lana, I’m so glad you have so many wonderful people who are nearby and HELPFUL (unlike those of us who are nearby and useless because we’re so wrapped up in our own crazy lives). You’re in my thoughts and prayers daily, but sometimes that just doesn’t seem like enough, so it’s reassuring to see that there are others out there stepping up to help!
