One More New York Picture
I can’t resist posting one more picture from New York. I was in the living room with Carmen and took this picture of Lauren and her cousin. The temperature was 5 degrees and when Lauren came back inside her nose was covered in ice! Winters in upstate New York are so very lovely but I don’t envy all the shoveling and snow blowing! Right, New York Grandpa?!
While driving home from our New York trip, Lauren asked if she could go outside and play in the snow. Well, we don’t have snow and only get snow a few times per winter. And the snow lasts just a few days. I would like to have “real” snow more often!

What a beautiful picture. We too, live in Upstate NY and I like snow for Christmas & New Year’s… it can go somewhere else the rest of the time!
You make you kids wear helmets to play outdoors in the snow? What kind of parents are you?
Ditto, Julie. I could truly celebrate Christmas and New Year’s without snow/ice, also. My son lives in Houston now and appreciates the pure white stuff when he comes at New Year’s. Of course, he can then turn around and go back home. Oh well, there’s no place prettier than upstate New York all year ’round. What Blessings…..
Love the picture! We even had snow for Christmas in New Jersey this year. It was lovely! Put a little cramp in the Christmas shopping and the shipping of poinsettias though. Hope you have a wonderful, healthy, happy New Year.
Wes,
What???? You don’t make your kids wear helmets in the house too?!
I thought about explaining why the kids had helmets on….snowmobiling…but forgot!
Um-m-m – Excuse me but I think one of those helmets is a bicycle helmet????? – - -
It does look like a bike helmet. Dave was in charge of the snowmobiling so I’ll have to ask him about that!
New York Grandma, you are excused.
It is a bike helmet.
Can’t wait for next summer’s pics of the bicyclists. Must be creativity in the country.
It is MY bicycle helmet – to be precise!! I realize we ran out of snowmobile helmets – - – Anyway, I never looked that good in it
Lana, Just love your beautiful pictures! I appreciate your blog and your family ~ I’ve been blessed. xo nancy
