I Want My Present!!!
After yesterday’s post about things I miss, I was looking through some pictures.
This was on Carmen’s 1st birthday, July 20, 2007, a couple of weeks after we found out that she most likely had Tay Sachs.
“I wonder what is in this package?”
“I want my present!”
“Now, I’ve got it!”
I never thought that would be the last time I would see Carmen reach for something. I am glad I took a picture! Take more pictures!
The very next thing she reaches for will be a hug from her creator. You can’t beat that! I am jealous.
So sweet!!
You inspired me to get out my camera. It’s been collecting dust lately.

I read your site almost daily. We have two amazing children from Guatemala dn our Callie has many of the dame features as Carmen. It is so hard for me to read this site and not be moved to tears and feel so bad and blessed at the same time.
Today I have been dragging around the house feeling sorry for myself…we have an ice dam and a leaky ceiling…our electric bill just came in and it is almost $400. I am so ashamed…I could have been enjoying my wife and kids and now I just can’t wait for their naps to end. We are so blessed to have this amazing site. Carmen is touching so many people. IF there is ever anything that I can do for your family just ask because I owe you and Dave, Lauren and Carmen so much.
Know that God is with you and so are my thoughts and prayers.
