Carmen update: Carmen spiked a 102.8 fever last night. She had a rough night with fevers and high heart rate (130s-160s). She is congested and just looks miserable.
Lauren also had a fever over 102 last night so my guess is they are fighting the same bug.
When Lauren gets sick, I give her Tylenol, lots of fluids and try to have her rest. When Carmen gets sick, I think, “Will she make it through this sickness?”
It has been so long since Carmen has been sick. At least it seems like a long time. Maybe it has only been a few months.
Dave isn’t feeling well either. He has been coughing for weeks and is going to the doctor today. His sickness is most likely a combination of allergies and asthma.
We could sure use prayers here!
Amelia’s heartrate is always in the 130s – 160s. I think that’s fine for a child their age. Hope everyone’s feeling better soon, and that you don’t get it.

I hope everyone feels better soon! I just learned a great trick for managing a cough – honey! It is supposed to coat the throat, inhibit the cough reflex and kill bacteria with its acidity. I tried at the end of a cold and it worked great, not sure how good it would be when a cough is bad.

We can always tell when Elise has a fever or something is bothering her by her increased heart rate too. Carmen has shown many times that she is a fighter. I have hope that this illness will be no different! Maybe after a good rest tonight everyone will be feeling a little better tomorrow. Sending you all get better vibes…
