Carmen’s Hospice nurse, Leslie, gave me a decorative plate for Christmas. I cannot think of a gift with a more perfect message.
To Carmen:

What a wonderful day. You may have noticed that I’m a little shy. But, you folks just broke that barrier. The best part is that I felt like I was meeting celebrities, right off the Blog. Thanks Sarah M. and Martina. We did enjoy a wonderful Christmas! We are now at my parents’ house in NY for a few days. We weren’t sure how it would go but we are surviving and enjoying some snow. Carmen is a bit out of sorts but is doing OK. Lauren is having a blast…and that’s the main reason we made the short trip up here.
Joe, we really appreciate people like you who have come along side of us and allowed us to share our lives with you and have also shared your life with us.
