Last night we did Back to School family night. I made chocolate chip cookies and Lauren and I decorated lunch bags. We packed a lunch- sandwiches and chips and cookies. Lauren put two cans of Nutren Jr. (basically pediasure) in Carmen’s bag! After our fabulous dinner, we hid pencils and Lauren went on a “pencil hunt.” Great fun!!! We also picked out Lauren’s first day of school outfit, all purple.
Please keep sweet Lilie and her family in your prayers. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lilieclark Lilie has GM-1, a similar disease to Tay Sachs and is 22 months old. Lilie is nearing the end of her journey and I pray for peace for her family and comfort for Lilie.
Here are some pictures from last night. And, lest anyone think I am making home-made cookies, these are Safeway’s Break ‘N Bake. They are really good!

Sounds like it was a fun night..what a really neat idea! Hope Lauren’s first day of school was a good one. Please give Carmen our XOXOXO’s. Thinking of you guys, Nicki (Riley’s Mommy)

We LOVE Safeway break and bakes!!!!! Of course they don’t get to the cooked part most of the time, but when they do they are GREAT!!!!!!
Lana, I love all your fun ideas. You are making so many great memories to treasure. They make me think of the treasured memories I have from our times together — Pine Cove mother/daughter weekends (remember when we drove into Tyler and bought a Strawberry Shortcake doll?), slumber parties, trip to Crystal Lake and weekend at Huxley with your softball team, and our trip to Natchez, Mississippi after your college graduation. I wish that I had had some of your great ideas back then. Keep up the good work!!
